We are in the process of finding some amazing singing talent at Russley School that we can use to help record the soundtrack for our upcoming school musical 'Pirate Story.' We are going to record it at Orange Studios in Ferrymead. It will look a lot like the studio in the video below. Interested? Check it!

Russley School was lucky enough to get a visit from Aaron Orangi. He competed in the New Zealand Bobsled team at the recent Winter Olympics in Russia. We learnt a lot about what it takes to compete as bobsleder. At the end we got to have a look at a real live bobsled. It was amazing! Today Room 7 ventured into the world of computer coding. Today we looked at why we should learn to code, what sort of jobs (and money) people can make through coding, and more importantly how to code. We watched some amazing videos from some of the best developers in the world including Bill Gates from Microsoft and Mark Zukerberg from Facebook who told us all the amazing benefits of learning how to code from a young age. It was amazing. Not a peep was heard from the class all afternoon as they tackled increasingly challenging problems around Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies. Below is one of the videos telling you just how important it is to learn how to code! This afternoon Room 7 was introduced to the wonderful game of outdoor bowls. Playing on the hard and fast, especially mowed surface, Room 7 very quickly became quite good at it.
In the final tournament, filled with much hype and anticipation, Jun and Noah came up trumps as the class champion. Here they are with their winning bowl! It is the end of Term 4, and what a year we have had in Room 7! It has been full of craziness and fun and laughter and learning! Thank you to every single one of you in Room 7 for being so awesome! Don't forget to pop in and see me next year. - Mr Walker. |
