On Tuesday 22nd October, Russley School held their Athletics Day. It was a wonderful occasion for everyone and many children achieved personal bests. Below are some photos featuring some of the Room 7 kids in action!

Room 7's video of the week. Curriculum link = we are swimming at the moment and this video has swimming/bombs in it. This week for homework, Room 7's creativity was tested when they were asked to make a 3d shape... out of anything! Well Josie and Emily brought in their joint homework early, and it was, how could I put this, tasty! A great success and out of all the (1) entries so far it had been the best! Thanks girls #amazing #gymiscalling #ilovemarkinghomeworkyoucaneat The Russley Academy of Performing Arts invites all Year 5-8 students to audition to be a part of the very first intake of students for our newly formed Drama Club. Alex recently was a member of the Russley School Chess Team. Playing in an inter-school tournament in our school gym, our Russley kids came a respectable 7th. Well done to Alex and the rest of the team! Here is a picture of Alex in action!
Our Magnum Opus
Though Many We Are One - A social commentary based on the works of Jackson Pollock and Jasper Johns. Today, step 2 of the secret festival art project took shape. Making best use of the beautiful outdoor conditions, Room 7 practised their Jackson Pollock painting skills. These ranged from calculated and precision splashing through to Harry Potter type wand (paint) casting!
We had a tremendous time. It is not often you get the flick and throw paint around at school (and have your teacher encourage you to make more mess!). Stay tuned for step 3. It has begun. Room 7's secret art project is now well on the way. The first element was to saw a piece of wood into 3 pieces. Not as easy as you might think! Many of us had never used a saw before, but with Mr Griffiths to the rescue, step one was successfully completed. Step two is now on it's way.
