After the February earthquake they had all been left in the cage for too many weeks together so Mr Walker had to let the mice free because otherwise the babies! Then there would have been too many to take care of!
So, on Sunday 3 April Mr Walker bought Room 7 a new mouse named Scurry. She is four or five weeks old and is very adventurous and cute. Her fur is very dark brown and delicately soft. She has been hiding in her house and so far has buried herself in the wood shavings, we don’t know how she breathes in there!!
In the corner of the room we have a glass mouse cage for Scurry. We have food, water and a house for her. Mr Walker is also getting a wheel for the cage.
We have pet monitors who feed her every day, and keep her water clean and fresh. They also change the wood shavings when they get dirty, since we would hate the classroom to smell! Poowhee!!
