Just found this very cool, super fun, new maths game called Jetski Addition. You compete against 4 other jestskis for the prize! Every time you answer a correct addition problem, your jetski goes a little faster. The quicker you answer, the faster you go! The really cool thing is you can join a game, or start your own, and compete against other people around the world!

Now a very famous audition from 'Britain's got Talent'. If you have not seen it yet then check it out! He is super talented and really surprised the judges and audience with his awesome performance! Let me know what you think of it. So far this year, Room 7 has read for our class novel "Fantastic Mr Fox" by Roald Dahl, and "Boy Overboard" by Morris Gleitzman . At the moment we are reading "Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher" by Bruce Coville.
If you haven't read these books, click on the covers above and you can find out all about them. If you have read them then we would love to know which of these 3 books is your favourite and why? Let us know :-) Today Samantha brought in 5 guinea pigs for Room 7 to see and learn about. It was so fun (even though they "wet" our carpet a few times! Below are some photos about the afternoon's fun :-)
On Tuesday the 12th of April, Syndicate 3 - 4 had a soccer tournament run by some Syndicate 4 boys in Room 2. You had to sign up 2 weeks before the game to enter.
The games were played on the big field, out the back of Russley School. There were 10 teams, all mixed with boys and girls. Both of us (Max and Olivia) won our games yesterday. In Olivia's team was Samantha, Holly, Jessica, Ashley and Olivia. In Max's team were James, Bailey, Archie, Alec, Grace and Jaxon. Max's team got into the semi finals! Good luck to everybody! By Olivia and Max Update Today Max's team played a very strong Year 7/8 team full of semi-professional soccer players! Max's team put up a brave fight but in the end were beaten by 5 points. They did try their best and we are all so very proud with how they played against the odds! Well done to them all! Today three teams from Room 7 were involved in a lunchtime soccer tournament organised by the Year 7/8s. Two out of the three teams won, and have gone on to the second round. Well done to you all!
Here are some pictures of some of the action. At the start of the year Room 7 had three fish. We hardly ever saw them as they always hid in the corner of the tank! Then Mr Walker brought five more fish and this made the other fish come out and play. Sadly three died soon after.
When the earthquake happened Rachel’s mum was working at the hospital. During the quake, the hospital fish tank smashed. Rachel’s mum brought in two big fish from the hospital to live in our tank One of the big fish called Roly-Poly had a tumour in it's tummy which made it look really fat. It also stopped it from swimming upright. It could only float upside down. Sadly on Saturday the 9th of April, it died from the tumour Now our six fish are swimming happily around the tank because fish only have five second memories so they have forgotten about Roly-Poly! By Julia and Cherry Today as a warm-up to our writing we played Wordshake as a whole class! It was really fun (and it got quite competitive!)
How will you go. Our class record today was 37. Can you beat that? Leave us a comment with your score. Just click on the picture to play! Room 7 has recently finished their (not quite stained glass) windows. We started by thinking up an interesting design that we could break up into a range of geometric shapes. We then drew our chosen design onto our paper. Following this we drew over our pencil lines in chalk. We then used pastal to colour in each individual block as thick as we could. Finally we brushed black dye over the chalk. Below you can see our completed "windows". As you can see, we are very proud of our work! |
