Have you entered Team 3's 100 Word Challenge yet? It would be great to see lots of Room 7 kids in-to-win this week!
Remember this week's task is to write an 'explanation' about how the machine in the picture below might work. Click on the pic to be taken straight to the Team 3 blog. Go for it writers!

Room 7 have started an amazing online reading program called readtheory.org
This is going to be used to supplement work inside of the class and the children can also access it for homework or just for fun! With achievement badges and points up for grabs it is a great motivation for them all to improve their reading comprehension, inferencing and knowledge.
It was so much fun that nearly all of the class spent part of their lunch reading extra stories, trying to gain points and badges! Click on the banner above to login.

Today, while the Kapa haka children were out, the remainder of Room 7 spent a very merry 40 minutes on Story Place.
This is a site with a range of (very funny) stories which you can choose to read. Each has a lot of music, sound and animations to go with each one. What we loved was you could choose both the characters and their names. Check it out by clicking on the picture above.

On Friday the junior teachers went away for an hour and a half leaving their children in the capable hands of their buddy class. Room 7 and Room 15 decided to ditch the colouring in and maths games, instead spending the morning building four massive huts using whatever they could find in the classroom. Was it chaos? Yes. Did it make an enormous mess? Absolutely? Was it fun? You bet! Judge for yourselves.

Give a bunch of Room 7 kids during buddy time in the library a camera, and what do you get? That's right... selfies!

This week the class won Round 3 of 'Mr Walker vs Room 7' and their reward was cleaning the teacher's cars.

Mrs Fowler, Mrs Robson and Mr Walker's car were selected and the class was split into three. It very soon became a competition as to who could get their vehicle the shiniest!

To make matters interesting it began to rain heavily. Room 7 felt that this in fact made the whole experience better as it's not every day you get to be drenched at school. And so... we continued

Eventually Mr Ogsten was called in as an impartial judge and he ruled that Mrs Fowler's car (in red) was the cleanest!

Here a few pics of our wet (wet) afternoon's activities!

Room 7 after recording their first (studio?) times table rap album are looking for new inspiration. Well we now need look no further than Y.N.Richkids and their new single My Kids. If anything has swag it is this.
If you love this then you can head over to their official website by clicking here and you can download all of their albums at the moment for free. Amazing!

With no great introduction, ceremony or clever commentary we present to you, for your learning pleasure... Room 7's Times Table Raps. Let us know what you think. We'd love to hear from you!
