That's right. iPad + Temple Run Brave + Apple TV really does equal fitness! Not sure how? Have no idea what we are talking about? Think we are crazy? Well check out the video below. It may just catch on!

Flight of the Conchords recently wrote a song to help raise money for Cure Kids. All the lyrics were taken from what a group of 5 - 8 year old children told them in a series of very funny interviews. If you have not seen it yet, watch it! If you have seen it already... watch it again! Today was the Student Council arranged 'Pyjama and Soft Toy Day'. It was a huge hit! Many of the kids thought it should be like this everyday! And after a hard day's work in the classroom...
Today we met our pen pals!
Room 7 have been matched up with another Room 7 at Paroa School on the West Coast of New Zealand. Their teacher, Mr Sinton-White used to be Mr Walker's student teacher 5 years ago. Recently we decided to get our classes writing to each other. Today, at 10:45 we met each other for the first time via Skype. It was brilliant as we got to wave and see the buddy who we are going to write to. Room 7 at Paroa School are going to write first. We can't wait to get their letters so we can write back! Below is a picture of Mr Sinton-White's class. If you click on it you will be taken to their blog. Check it out and maybe you could even leave a comment! This week Russley School has been involved in Art Attack week. Each class is creating their own special art works and these will all be displayed in the hall on Monday and Tuesday. Room 7's own art project will be unveiled next week, however here is sneak peak of one of our (secret) projects.
My Puppy Punched me in the Eye By Ken Nesbitt My puppy punched me in the eye.
My rabbit whacked my ear. My ferret gave a frightful cry and roundhouse kicked my rear. My lizard flipped me upside down. My kitten kicked my head. My hamster slammed me to the ground and left me nearly dead. So my advice? Avoid regrets; no matter what you do, don't ever let your family pets take lessons in kung fu. Today was the Russley Olympics. It was a fantastic afternoon full of competitive fun for everyone.
During the closing ceremony we were all surprised by a secret visit by Marc Ryan, who won bronze at the London Olympics with the NZ Track Cycling Team. He answered some questions and then presented the medals to the winning teams. As everyone left, Room 7 managed to sneak in for a whole class photo with him. This was very exciting for us all as not only could we shake his hand but we could actually hold his bronze medal...an actual real medal from the London Olympics (and it was really heavy!) Room 7 was ecstatic and most of the class went home claiming they will never wash the hand they touched Marc/the medal with again! Here's hoping they do! Today was sadly our last time swimming at Kings Pool for the year! Our last session involved us learning about water safety in a real life context. We talked particularly about boat safety and the importance of life jackets. As part of it we got to exit backwards out of a boat. It was a lot of fun!
The photos below show the day's action. Quite a few are blurry due to the speed of which things happened (like falling/being tipped out of a boat!) |
